A planned estate gift of $250,000 from the late Henry and Verbeth Coe will establish an endowed professorship in engineering at Arkansas State University, the school announced Monday.
The Tuckerman couple were long-time ASU supporters and $650,000 of their recent $1 million estate gift will be used for renovations of ASU’s Centennial Bank Stadium.
Henry Ezra Coe was a 1938 graduate of ASU.
“Endowed professorships provide the means to attract, honor and retain distinguished faculty members in a highly competitive field within higher education and our state – engineering,” said Paul Mixon, interim dean of the ASU College of Engineering in a news release. “The Verbeth and Henry Ezra Coe Professorship of Engineering will help attract a nationally recognized engineering professor of merit to Jonesboro.”
