Comcast Business, a unit of Comcast Cable, on Thursday announced that it is providing a 10-gigabit-per-second internet connection through its ethernet service to the Marion School District and its facilities in Marion and West Memphis in Crittenden County.
The district has 3,900 students. Comcast said the new service would help grow the district grow its educational video services and meet the broadband infrastructure goals outlined by the State Education Technology Directors Association.
The company also said completing a multi-million dollar fiber network installation across greater Memphis in 2016 allowed it to expand its network in the West Memphis and Crittenden County, and that expansion gave it the ability to deliver up to 10 Gbps speeds to local businesses.
