Communications Group Captures Motion Account

The Communications Group has new parts to play — or play up.

The Little Rock firm has been named the corporate marketing agency for Motion Industries of Birmingham, Alabama, one of the nation’s leading distributors of industrial replacement parts.

Motion Industries, which has 550 locations in North America and annual sales of $4.6 billion, has worked with ComGroup before, and liked what it saw.

“They presented concepts several months ago for a corporate branding campaign that told us they knew our company, our customers and our market,” said Randy Breaux, a senior vice president for Motion Industries, founded in 1946 and a subsidiary of publicly traded Genuine Parts Co. since 1976. “We are pleased to continue … with ComGroup as our marketing partner.”

One selling point for ComGroup, led by Dan Cowling and his brother, Dane, who leads its industrial business-to-business group, was its experience with industrial clients.

“Motion Industries is one of the companies that literally keeps industry moving,” Dan Cowling said. “They have over 150,000 customers in North America,” as well as $700 million in inventory.
