Construction Begins on Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital

1 min read

Jefferson Regional broke ground Wednesday on an 87,000-SF specialty hospital in White Hall that will include 40 inpatient rehabilitation rooms and 36 behavioral health beds.

The hospital is a joint venture with LifePoint Health of Brentwood, Tennessee. LifePoint in 2021 acquired Kindred Healthcare of Louisville, which has managed Jefferson Regional’s rehab unit for the past 28 years.

A site a block away from the Jefferson Regional White Hall Health Complex at 1600 West Holland Avenue was chosen for the hospital. It will provide services for adults who have experienced a loss of function or disability due to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery and other conditions.

An opening date in early 2024 is being targeted.

The hospital is separate from a $180 million plan to replace Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
