Conway Area Healthcare Forum Recognizes Medical Professionals (Movers & Shakers)

Melissa Longing of Alzheimer’s Arkansas has won the Community Impact Award from the Conway Area Healthcare Forum, and Mallory Lefler of Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center has won the Health Promotion Specialist of the Year. Also recognized were Susan Molsbee of Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway, Health Care Professional of the Year; Sarah Murphy of the Conway Human Development Center, Administrator of the Year; Donny Quick of Arkansas Oral Surgery, Dental Professional of the Year; Justin Charton of MSC Eye Associates, Optical Professional of the Year; Michael Godfrey of Birch Tree Communities, Mental Health Professional of the Year; Marilyn Dail of Conway Regional Health System, Nurse of the Year; and Ben Burnsed of Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway, Physician of the Year.


Dr. Christian Simmons, Dr. Kalenda Kasangana and Dr. Kyla Shelton, all vascular surgeons, have been hired by Conway Regional Health System as part of a partnership with Arkansas Vascular & Vein Specialists to offer specialized vascular surgery services to central Arkansas and the River Valley communities.


Daniel Decker (NARMC)

Dr. Daniel Decker, a urologist at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, and his team have been recognized as a Center of Excellence for GreenLight Laser Therapy Treatment, a minimally invasive procedure for men to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia.


Dr. Dwight Johnson has been hired at Baptist Health Family Clinic-Massard in Fort Smith. Johnson most recently worked as an emergency room physician at Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs. 


HyeJin Son has been appointed corporate vice president for oncology services at Baptist Health of Little Rock, and Joni Stephenson has been promoted to corporate vice president of human resources.


Adonica Dotson has been promoted to director of Affordable Care Act risk adjustment audits and retrospective programs in Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Little Rock’s Risk Adjustment Management & Strategic Data Services Department.


Elisabeth Engel has been promoted to director of the Arkansas State University Museum in Jonesboro.


Mitch Mathis (Williams Baptist University)

Mitch Mathis has been named the athletic director of Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge.


Cathy Gammill of Little Rock and Jordan Longnecker of El Dorado have been named to the board of the CARTI Foundation of Little Rock.
