Conway Regional Adds Physician Mallory Smith (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Mallory Smith, an infectious disease physician, has joined Conway Regional Health System to establish the first infectious disease clinic in Faulkner County.

Smith earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. She completed a two-year fellowship in the study of infectious disease at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as well as an internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.


Dr. Bertrand Fonji has joined Baptist Health Surgical & Specialty Clinic in Conway.

Fonji earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York, completed his residency at Orlando Health in Florida and is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

He specializes in robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, colorectal surgery, upper and lower endoscopy, vagus nerve stimulator implantation and thyroid and parathyroid surgery.


Greg Wood and Dr. Brian Jones have been named to the 2019 board of directors of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization.

Wood, executive director of Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, has been named chairman of the board of the organization. Wood has served on the board of directors for five years as a national director and vice-chair for two years.

Jones is the president and CEO of the SHARE Foundation in El Dorado. He has been elected national director of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization board.
