Conway Regional Boosts Staff with Gallaher, Tukaye (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Regan S. Gallaher, a board-certified neurosurgeon,and Dr. Deepali Tukaye, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, have both joined affiliates of the Conway Regional Health System.

Gallaher has joined the medical staff of Conway Regional Health System and has begun practicing at the Conway Regional Neuroscience Center. He has practiced for the past four years at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff and at Washington Regional Medical Center. A graduate of Hendrix College in Conway, he earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and completed a residency in neurosurgery from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque.

Tukaye has joined the Conway Regional Cardiovascular Clinic. She comes to Conway Regional from CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. She completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine from Ohio State University in Columbus. She also completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Louisville and has a doctorate in cellular and molecular physiology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.


Dr. Matthew B. McLellan and Dr. Donald P. Samms, family practitioners who previously practiced in Van Buren as members of the Cooper Clinic, have joined Sparks Clinic of Fort Smith. They will continue seeing patients at the same location at 2521 Alma Hwy. in Van Buren, which is now called Sparks Clinic Urgent Care.


Pam Hickman, Stephen Lein, Donald Poe and Randy Loggins are new staff members at the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, a nonpartisan, independent health policy center in Little Rock. Hickman is ACHI’s new operations manager. Lein is a senior research analyst. Poe’s title is technical director, and Loggins is a technical business analyst.


Dr. Lyle J. Burdine has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a kidney, liver and pancreas transplant surgeon. Burdine also serves as an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Surgery.

Burdine earned a medical degree and a doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his residency in general surgery at UAMS and a fellowship in abdominal transplants from the University of California, San Francisco.


Dr. Asma Khan has joined CHI St. Vincent Primary Care-Hot Springs at 1 Mercy Lane, Dr. Rebecca Luper has joined CHI St. Vincent Primary Care-70W in Hot Springs, and Dr. Julian Hernandez has joined CHI St. Vincent Primary Care-Jacksonville Main Street.

Khan specializes in family medicine. She attended medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Bahrain and completed her residency at Michigan State University Hospital in Marquette.

Luper attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City and completed a residency at the UAMS Area Health Education Center. She also worked as a hospitalist and a family practice physician in El Dorado and Junction City.

Hernandez completed his residency at the UAMS Area Health Education Center in Fayetteville. He attended medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico.
