David Zakrzewski resigned as president and CEO and was elected vice-chairman of the company's board of directors. He joined the company in 1974.
Coulson Oil Co. of North Little Rock announced Thursday that John Harris had been elected president and CEO.
The privately held gasoline supplier said Harris has served in several capacities with the company, including manager of environmental compliance, manager of petroleum services, and vice president and chief operating officer since 2012.
Meanwhile, David Zakrzewski resigned as president and CEO and was elected vice-chairman of the company’s board of directors.
“David’s leadership with our company has been pivotal in repositioning us from a dealer-centered fuel distributor back into the retail fuel industry,” Mike Coulson, company chairman, said in a news release. “His negotiations to acquire Road Runner convenience store branding options in Arkansas and northeast Texas will be his legacy and have given us new opportunities for growth and geographic expansion.”
Zakrzewski joined Coulson in 1974. He has been president and CEO since late 2010, when he replaced Coulson at the helm of the company. On Thursday, Coulson Oil said Zakrzewski will assume senior advisory duties along with J.W. “Jim” White, chairman emeritus, and Mike Coulson.
Coulson Oil was No. 16 on Arkansas Business’ most recent list of the largest private companies in the state and reported almost $652 million in sales for the fiscal year that ended Oct. 31, 2012.
The company provides fuel products and retail support to more than 200 convenience stores and fuel outlets in Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma. The company has more than 100 employees.
