Coulson Oil Co. Inc., a gasoline and diesel fuel distributor, announced Thursday that it will build a new corporate headquarters on three acres in the NorthShore Business Park off Interstate 430 at Crystal Hill Road in North Little Rock.
Fennell Purifoy Architects of Little Rock will design the nearly 15,000-SF building. Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. of Little Rock will serve as general contractor for the project, which is set to be completed in late winter 2019.
Coulson Oil’s current administrative and executive offices have been located at 1434 Pike Ave. in North Little Rock for nearly 50 years.
“We looked at multiple facilities and sites to accommodate our company’s rapid growth — from existing buildings to new construction,” John Harris, president and CEO, said in a news release. “NorthShore Business Park was the clear winner for its accessibility, corporate environment, recreational amenities and land.”
Coulson Oil acquired the property from the Pfeifer Family Limited Partnership No. 1 on April 12. CBC Hathaway Group of Little Rock handled the transaction.
With about $347 million in 2016 revenue, Coulson Oil ranked No. 33 on Arkansas Business’ most recent list of the state’s 75 largest private companies. Founded in 1969, it has about 300 employees in Arkansas. Mike Coulson is the company’s owner, chairman and the son of its founder.
