Crews & Associates of Little Rock, the investment banking subsidiary of Searcy-based First Security Bancorp, announced it has expanded to Indiana with the hiring of Susan Reed of Indianapolis.
Reed, who began her role as managing director on Aug. 12, is a licensed attorney and an investment banker on the company’s public finance team. She focuses on underwriting and privately placing municipal securities for Indiana borrowers.
Reed has held various public finance roles in her career, previously working as a bond attorney and a municipal advisor. Her experience includes working and assisting cities, towns, counties, school districts and utilities with issuing debt.
Most recently, she was managing director at advisory, tax and assurance firm Baker Tilly U.S. LLP.
She has worked with issuers to prepare for the issuance of debt, including development of policies, preparing for the rating process and assisting with continuing disclosure compliance. She has also worked with local governments in a community and economic development role for a joint action public power utility.
“Public finance is an important part of our growth model, and Indiana is a great fit for Crews,” Michael Lambert, head of national public finance at Crews & Associates, said in a news release. “With a focus on underwriting transactions, Susan will help us continue to grow and bring in new product for our firm.”
Reed holds a bachelor’s from Purdue University and a Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Crews & Associates now has branch offices in Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and West Virginia.
