CTEH President Chase Selby has joined the Arkansas Research Alliance’s board of trustees, effective immediately, the public-private partnership announced Monday.

Selby, who joined CTEH the day he graduated from the University of Central Arkansas, oversees the environmental consulting firm’s operations, finances and personnel across the U.S.

Bryan J. Barnhouse, president and CEO of ARA, said in the announcement that Selby “leads a company that applies scientific innovation and expertise to solve serious problems, so he’s well-positioned among corporate executives leveraging Arkansas-based research to grow our state’s economic and business competitiveness.”

CTEH specializes in emergency preparedness and emergency response and recovery. Selby led efforts after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Hurricane Harvey’s devastation in Texas in 2017 and COVID mitigation for Hollywood film and TV productions during the pandemic.

“I look forward to working with ARA and the research community to build more science opportunities in my home state,” said Selby, a Benton native.
