Dr. Daniel Mwanza has joined Surgical Associates of Fort Smith and Sparks Regional Medical Center as a general surgeon.
His services include breast, bowel, abdominal and dermatological surgeries.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College at Conway and later earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences. He was fellowship trained in minimally invasive laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. John T. Leslie has been named chief medical officer at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
As chief medical officer, he will be helping local medical providers adapt to the changing models of health care delivery and reimbursement. He will continue to provide patient services at the Family Medicine Clinic, which specializes in family medicine.
Jennifer Birdsong has joined the rehabilitation services staff at North Arkansas Regional as a physical therapist. She received her bachelor’s degree from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, and her doctor of physical therapy degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.
