Darren McFadden Trial Date Moved to 2018

1 min read

The trial date of the case involving Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden against his former family friend and financial adviser is expected to be punted to sometime between March and May 2018.

The case had been set for trial during the week of Aug. 21, 2017, but both sides have agreed it can be moved.

The reason?

McFadden “plays professional football in the National Football League and therefore has a conflict with the proposed trial date,” according to the Oct. 14 filing.

Back in June, McFadden filed a lawsuit accusing Michel Vick of Pulaski County of “gross incompetence, self-dealing and outright theft” of more than $15 million. McFadden also listed 10 other defendants who were unidentified at the time he filed suit in June in U.S. District Court in Little Rock. The other defendants haven’t been identified yet.

In court filings, Vick has denied the allegations and asked that the case be dismissed.

The veteran running back hasn’t played this season because of an injury to his elbow.
