Darragh Co. of Little Rock announced Monday that it acquired Morgan Tool & Supply of Shreveport effective March 1.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase means the commercial construction supply company will now have a presence in 13 locations in Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana, including a recently opened second Memphis location.
Founded in 1906, Darragh started out supplying cement in wooden kegs for construction of the Arkansas State Capitol. In 2001, Darragh purchased Arkansas Rebar, followed by Tool Central in 2011. In 2019, the company launched ToolCentral.com.
“We are so pleased that Morgan Tool & Supply will be joining the Darragh family,” Darragh CEO Rich Dunlap said. “Exciting things ahead. Darragh and Morgan share many of the same product lines and together will have even stronger capabilities to offer the products that construction, industrial and trade professionals depend on in the Shreveport market.”
Morgan Tool & Supply was founded in 1963 and serves the construction, industrial and oilfield markets. It specializes in screws and fasteners, power tools, hand tools, cutting instruments, safety equipment, firestopping equipment, drilling, anchoring and adhesives.
Richard Williford and Jimbo Wilkerson bought the company in 2007 from its original owners and have “grown it into a market leader,” Darragh said in a news release.
“We are looking forward to watching Morgan continue to grow under the leadership of Darragh and ultimately build on the legacy created by Richard [Williford] and Jimbo [Wilkerson],” Annette Williford, Morgan Tool’s vice president, said.
