Darrin Williams Appointed to Little Rock Tech Park Board

1 min read

Southern Bancorp CEO Darrin Williams has been named to the Little Rock Technology Park Authority Board, effective immediately, the board announced Wednesday.

Appointed by University of Arkansas at Little Rock Chancellor Joel Anderson, Williams will complete the term of former board member Bob Johnson, who resigned in November.

A former state representative from Little Rock, Williams is an attorney and principal at Carney Williams Bates Pulliam & Bowman PLLC.

“We welcome Mr. Williams to the board,” said teck park director Brent Birch. “He brings to the board a wealth of diverse knowledge and experience and we look forward to benefiting from his input and guidance.”

The tech park is in the process of acquiring property along Main Street in downtown Little Rock, and this month moved into what it’s calling its 1.0 space at 107 East Markham. Previously, the park had functioned out of space donated by the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce.

UALR, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the city of Little Rock and Arkansas Children’s Hospital are partners in the park.

“Mr. Williams’ background and experience in finance, law and politics will be a great asset to the board, particularly at this time,” Anderson said. “I am grateful for his willingness to accept this appointment.”
