Dave Creek Media Gains Scholastic Branding Rights

2 min read

Dave Creek Media of Conway, which calls itself a connected marketing architecture firm, announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with Nicholson Corp. Inc. to obtain exclusive rights to Scholastic Branding and Marketing, which does branding for numerous Arkansas school districts.

The rights begin immediately, according to a company news release.

“This acquisition accelerates our plans to expand into the education space, not only in Arkansas, but also into other states as well,” said Glenn Crockett, CEO of Dave Creek Media. “We can help school districts establish a high-quality brand and then communicate that brand leveraging our other areas of expertise, including video, social media, and targeted marketing.”

Scholastic Branding and Marketing is an established brand in Arkansas, Crockett said, providing graphics packages to help school districts establish unique brands, color schemes logos and marketing guidelines for their athletic teams, cheerleaders, bands and members of other programs.

Dave Creek Media, founded in 2017, sees expansion opportunities as Arkansas prepares to adopt Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ “school choice” policies, giving schools a bigger incentive for branding “in the competitive education landscape,” the release said.

NCI President Dan Nicholson said in the release that he has known the leaders of Dave Creek Media for several years and is “confident that they will continue to grow Scholastic Branding and Marketing while helping school districts with their branding and overall marketing.”

The deal marks the third merger or acquisition since 2020 for Dave Creek Media, which has grown to have 35 employees over the past five years. Previous transactions included The Bigger Picture Marketing in 2020 and Kanga Studio in 2022. Dave Creek Media has also awarded two franchises, one in the Little Rock market and another in Northwest Arkansas.

The release said the company plans to award up to 10 franchises this year.
