Dave Stevens New Dean of Students at UAFS (Movers & Shakers)

Dave Stevens has been promoted to dean of students at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. Stevens joined UAFS in 2006 as an adviser for the Western Arkansas Technical Center before being promoted to the coordinator of the WATC in 2009 and to director of campus involvement in 2012. Stevens has a master’s degree in college student personnel from Arkansas Tech University at Russellville and recently earned a doctorate of education from the University of Arkansas.


Louis Dawkins, who has served as dean of Henderson State University’s School of Business four times, was recently inducted into the School of Business Hall of Fame. Dawkins joined Henderson as an accounting instructor in 1964 and was named dean in 1972. He worked at Mississippi State University from 1981-87, then returned to Henderson, where he was named dean for the second time in 1996. After retiring in 1999, Dawkins was tapped to serve as interim dean in 2012 and again earlier this year.
