Denali Water Solutions LLC of Russellville on Monday announced it had acquired Imperial Western Products Inc. of Coachella, California, a company that collects organic wastes and converts them into environmentally sustainable products.
It’s the latest in a series of acquisitions for the specialty waste and environmental services provider, which is looking to grow annual revenue from $400 million to $1 billion.
The deal closed April 29. Financial terms were not disclosed.
IWP, founded in 1966, refines cooking oil and grease into biodiesel fuel. The company says its Biotane Fuels production facility has the capacity to produce 12 million gallons per year. It also uses recycled waste to make lubricants, tire paints and sealants, and processes pre-consumer food waste from bakeries into animal feed.
Denali predominantly deals with the byproducts of cleaning water — for municipalities, food processing plants and other large industrial facilities — and uses the material as fertilizer on farm fields or composts it.
“The integration of IWP into Denali complements and expands the comprehensive environmental service capabilities we offer to customers,” Denali CEO Any McNeill said in a news release.
Former IWP co-owners Jared Trawick and Trent Trawick will join Denali in new roles.
