Denali Water Solutions LLC of Russellville, through its wholly-owned subsidiary WeCare Denali LLC, has acquired Swanson Bark & Wood Products Inc. of Longview, Washington.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
It’s the latest in a series of acquisitions for the specialty waste and environmental services provider that’s looking to grow annual revenue from $400 million to $1 billion.
Denali has announced seven other out-of-state buys in the past year, including its August purchase of GreenCare Recycling of Fort Myers, Florida. The acquisitions offer the company access to permits and business relationships in places where it didn’t have a presence, executives told Arkansas Business previously.
The Swanson deal continues the expansion of Denali’s composting footprint across North America to 26 locations and to bagged and bulk products. Swanson has two locations, in Longview and in Everett, Washington.
Jeffrey LeBlanc, chief growth officer at Denali Water Solutions, called the buy a great fit geographically and said it will bring additional products to new and existing customers. In addition, Denali is adding all of Swanson’s 150 employees to its team.
Swanson processes organic waste to produce mulch and soil products for national lawn and garden companies, retailers and landscapers. It was founded in 1928 and has been expanding its bagged and bulk sales and capabilities while increasing its overall productivity since 2018, according to the release.
