The Design Group, a Little Rock marketing firm, has won a two-year, $220,000 contract to help Little Rock Wastewater, the city’s sewer service provider, develop public education and outreach programs.
The work will include communications planning for capital improvement projects to repair the city’s aging infrastructure, according to a news release, along with market research, including focus groups. Another emphasis will be developing educational materials and awareness campaigns over the two years covered by the contract.
“Our new relationship with The Design Group is a first step toward better educating the public about our service to the city and the importance of reclaiming water,” said Greg Ramon, CEO of Little Rock Wastewater. Ramon jointly oversees the utility with the Little Rock Water Reclamation Commissions, whose members are appointed by the City Board of Directors.
“We’re excited to begin this new venture,” said Myron Jackson, CEO of The Design Group, a state-certified minority-owned business with annual billings of about $5 million. “It’s an opportunity to work with a great organization and educate Little Rock residents about its mission to protect the environment.”
The $220,000 value of the contract was confirmed by Tameka Lee, a public relations account executive at The Design Group, whose clients include Saint Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency, Arvest Bank and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
