Pulaski Technical College’s digital media production program should launch in the fall of 2012, pending curriculum approval by the school’s board of trustees and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
The college’s academic affairs committee approved the curriculum in February.
Next, the college board of trustees will consider approving the program’s curriculum at its meeting April 25, said David Durr, dean of information technology for the North Little Rock two-year college. If the board approves the curriculum, then the Department of Higher Education should review the program in July.
Students interested in an associate degree or certificate in audio and video content production were permitted to take existing preliminary classes during the current semester, which started in January, Durr said.
The goal of the new program is to produce technicians equipped to create audio and video content for commercials, films or the Web, he said.
