Dillard’s Inc. of Little Rock announced a gift of more than $250,000 to local chapters of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The funds come from Dillard’s exclusive sale of a special edition of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook, the department store chain said in a news release.
With this year’s contribution, Dillard’s has donated more than $16 million to local Ronald McDonald House Charities programs since 1994.
“Over the past 30 years, Dillard’s has developed a strong bond with RMHC Chapters in our communities,” Denise Mahaffy, senior vice president of Dillard’s, said in the release. “The work they do every day to bring comfort to families with children who are sick inspires us and makes the sale of the cookbooks an enormous source of pride and satisfaction.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities helps families with sick, injured or hospitalized children gain access to care and resources, reducing stress and financial burdens. At a Ronald McDonald House program, families can stay together, rest, interact with families going through similar experiences and enjoy home-cooked meals near hospitals and medical centers.
“We’re incredibly grateful for Dillard’s continuous support of our mission,” Joanna Sabato, the nonprofit’s global chief marketing and communications officer, said in the release. “The generous donation will undoubtedly make a profound impact on the health and well-being of families with children who are ill or injured when they need it most.”
