Edmond Hurst Joins Little Rock Office of Memphis Firm Carty & Co.

1 min read

Edmond Hurst, who has spent nearly three decades working for Crews & Associates of Little Rock, has joined Carty & Co. Inc. of Memphis in the investment firm’s new Little Rock office.

Hurst will lead the firm’s national public finance and capital markets endeavors, Carty & Co. said in a news release. He brings a wide range of experience in taxable and tax-exempt finance to the company.

Carty’s focus is fixed-income securities. It’s working to expand its retail, institutional and public financing.

Hurst had been with Crews & Associates since 1993, most recently working as senior managing director of capital markets. He was also a vice president for First Security Finance, an affiliated lease finance company.

Hurst, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, began his career in investment banking at age 20 by selling bonds.

“I found that I really enjoyed working with people to help improve our communities, like new hospitals, schools, affordable housing, economic development, and more,” he said in the release. “I am excited to build a team of professionals with that same passion.”

Carty’s expansion to Little Rock is being led by another former Crews employees, Rush “Buddy” Harding IV. The company said in early March that Harding, the eldest son of Crews co-founder Rush Harding III, had agreed to purchase up to a 25% equity stake in the company and will sit on its board of directors.
