Steve Trusty and Janet Brewer have announced their retirements from National Park College in Hot Springs, where Kelli Embry has been named vice president for administration.
Trusty, vice president for finance and administration, will retire in February. He came to NPC in 2015 after 35 years in the banking industry. Brewer, vice president for human resources, will retire Dec. 31. She came to NPC in 1999 as an accountant. Embry currently serves as vice president for workforce and strategic initiatives. She joined the Community & Corporate Training Division at NPC in August 2011.
Amy Cox and Jay Walls have been appointed department chairs at Harding University in Searcy. Cox is the new chair of Art & Design. Walls is the new chair of the department of music.
Cox, an interior designer, came to Harding in 2001 and advanced to associate professor. She has also served on multiple university committees as director of interior design.
Walls first came to Harding in 2000 and served as assistant director of Harding’s campus in Florence, Italy. After holding several positions at a number of universities, he returned to Harding in Searcy in 2014, where he has been an associate professor of music and director of the Arts & Life performance series.
