Ex-Super King Buffet Owner Delinquent on Debts

1 min read

Have you heard? Metropolitan National Bank of Little Rock is pursuing Min Hui Weng, former owner of Super King Buffet in North Little Rock, for defaulting on a $1.4 million mortgage connected to a property at 7424 Lindsey Road in Little Rock.

The bank states in a foreclosure document filed last month in Pulaski County Circuit Court that, as of March 27, Weng owed it $561,137 on the loan, as well as interest accruing at a rate of $56.38 per day.

The lien from Metropolitan is just one of Weng’s recent financial troubles.

Weng sold her Asian buffet, located north of the river at 4000 Springhill Plaza Court, to Sai Juan He around May 10, 2011.

Behind her, Weng left $1,312 in unpaid North Little Rock restaurant taxes, $8,241 in sales and use taxes owed to the state of Arkansas and $19,128 in real estate taxes owed to Pulaski County. As of last week, only the lien against Weng for the state taxes had been released.

Karen Trevino, executive director from the North Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission, said she thought Metropolitan was chasing money owed for Weng’s home.

Weng opened Super King Buffet on Nov. 1, 2009, apparently as a new business, Trevino said. Between that opening date and the end of 2010, Super King brought in food sales of $944,365.

Metropolitan’s attorney, John Kooistra, declined to comment. Weng did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
