The word has been spreading, but maybe not widely enough:
Fairfield Bay, the retirement community that straddles the Van Buren-Cleburne county line on the north side of Greers Ferry Lake, is getting its first hotel.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson is scheduled to speak at the April 26 groundbreaking for the 63-room, four-story Cobblestone Hotel to be built next to the existing Conference & Visitor Center just off Fairfield Bay’s main street, Dave Creek Parkway.
Rooms should be ready for occupancy in the fall.
The hotel is a joint project between the city and BD Alliance LLC and DMC International LLC, both of Birmingham, Alabama. The contractor is BriMark Builders of Neenah, Wisconsin, and the property will be managed by WHG Professional Hospitality Management, also of Neenah.
