Magnolia’s Farmers Bank & Trust is about a month away from the launch of its full-service branch in Bryant.
“We are planning to complete the project around Thanksgiving,” said Chris Gosnell, president and CEO of Farmers Bank & Trust. “We’ll probably open soon after that.”
The bank will occupy about 60% of the nearly 13,000-SF building and market the balance for lease. The new space in the former Crush Wine & Spirits building at 3345 Hwy. 5 will replace the $1.8 billion-asset lender’s nearby loan production office.
And no, the liquor license wasn’t included in the deal. “We asked them, but they wouldn’t,” Gosnell quipped.
Farmers ended the first two quarters of 2020 with net income of $12.4 million compared with $8.8 million for the same period last year.
