A former owner of a liquor store in Bentonville paid $856,000 for 8 acres on West Main Street in Farmington.
Drinkers shouldn’t get their hopes up though because it appears Jeremy Avance, the buyer, isn’t planning on putting a liquor store on the property. Avance was a liquor store owner in Oklahoma and later opened Crossroads Liquor in Bentonville before selling a few years ago.
The property, which also includes a 2,242-SF home, is on on the western side of Farmington, which has seen its population grow as a bedroom community just outside Fayetteville.
The acreage, officially located at 700 W. Main St., is across the street from a Walmart Neighborhood Market and close to the town’s fire station and a residential subdivision.
Avance bought the property through his Avance Business Solutions LLC. Arvest Bank assisted with a loan of nearly $684,000.
The seller was Vickie Darnell of Farmington. She and her late husband, James, acquired the property for $70,000 in 1986.
