A feature film written by Arkansas’ Graham Gordy will start shooting this fall in Arkansas.
“Antiquities,” directed by Arkansan Daniel Campbell, who also co-wrote the movie, is expected to have a 28-day shooting schedule and be finished by the end of the year.
And that’s not all.
“Antiquities” is the first movie from Antiquities Film LLC of Little Rock, which is “an independent production company,” said Gary Newton of Little Rock, who is the manager of the LLC.
“This intention is to be the first of many projects,” Newton said. “This is an opportunity for Graham to create independent content in Arkansas.”
The company raised $650,000 from investors, according to Newton and its filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. In addition to Newton, the other partners are Campbell and Gordy.
Newton said he couldn’t release too many details about “Antiquities” until commitments were made by the actors and the locations were secured.
Gordy has had a string of success. Variety named him among 10 TV Writers to Watch in 2016 for his work on the thriller “Quarry,” which premieres on Cinemax on Sept. 9.
Antiquities Film “is a great opportunity for a native Arkansan to do what he loves in his native Arkansas,” Newton said.
