FiberPro Plans $3M Expansion, 69 New Jobs in Hot Springs

FiberPro LLC of Hot Springs announced plans Friday to expand its manufacturing facility there, investing more than $3.1 million and creating 69 jobs over three years.

“FiberPro’s commitment to individualized solutions for each of our clients has led to outstanding growth for the company,” founder and CEO Josh Krauss said in a news release. “We are excited to continue the momentum through this expansion, which will benefit both FiberPro and the state by bringing additional manufacturing jobs and opportunities to Hot Springs.”

The company said the expansion will allow it to continue making woodyard and sawmill equipment while adding a team of forestry product experts focused on consulting, planning, engineering and manufacturing. It said one of its goals is “to bring as many of these high-paying and skilled positions to Hot Springs as possible.”

The company has qualified for two Arkansas Economic Development Commission incentive programs: Tax Back, which provides sales tax refunds on building materials, taxable machinery and equipment; and five years of the Create Rebate program, which is a cash rebate based on the company’s annual payroll for new employees.

It expects to complete the expansion by the summer.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson; U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-Arkansas; Secretary of Commerce Mike Preston; Garland County Judge Darryl Mahoney; and Hot Springs Mayor Pat McCabe joined FiberPro executives for the announcement at the company’s facility on Grand Avenue.

“The technology and economic impact by FiberPro’s investment is an exciting opportunity for Hot Springs,” Westerman said. “The timber industry is a vital resource for the United States and the lifeblood of Arkansas. Hot Springs is an incredible choice to host cutting-edge research, development, and manufacturing.”

Founded in 2019, FiberPro uses 3D technology to build machinery for sawmills, engineered wood products plants, pulp and paper plants, and biomass energy plants. According to AEDC, the company employs two full-time employees and contracts with 12. It plans to convert the contracted positions to full-time workers by next month. Its clients include lumber producers in the U.S. and Canada.
