Kirby Carlson has been named president and CEO of Fidelity Bank of West Memphis.
He follows Charles Horton, who is retiring. The lender’s website now lists Horton as vice chair.
Kirby has worked in every department of Fidelity Bank over the past 18 years, the bank said in a news release. He is a grandson of William Carlson, the founding director of the 59-year old lender. Kirby Carlson’s father, Mike, is a member of the bank’s board of directors.
The Carlson family purchased controlling interest of Fidelity Bank in 1988.
“Fidelity Bank’s mission has always been to help make eastern Arkansas a great place to live by obtaining a deep understanding of the banking needs in the neighborhoods and communities we serve,” Mike Carlson said in the release. “Kirby has chosen to see that dream through, planting roots on a Crittenden County farm with his wife and children, while simultaneously building a reputable banking career, just as his grandfather did.”
Fidelity Bank has more than $500 million in assets and employs 60 people. The bank has six locations.
