Batesville’s First Community Bank is working on a third location in the $2.5 billion-deposit Jonesboro market.

The $1.4 billion-asset lender intends to establish full-service operations downtown at 222 E. Washington Ave., a former branch of Regions Bank of Birmingham, Alabama.

First Community holds 6.7 percent of Jonesboro bank deposits. That $174 million total is the sixth-largest share among 14 lenders.

The five largest shares of Jonesboro deposits are held by Conway’s Centennial Bank, 27.2 percent totaling $703.6 million; Simmons Bank of Pine Bluff, 9.3 percent totaling $240.9 million; IberiaBank of Lafayette, Louisiana, 8.4 percent to-taling $216.4 million; Regions Bank, 7.7 percent totaling $198.5; and First Security Bank of Searcy, 7 percent totaling $179.6 million.

First Community recorded a $15 million profit last year supported by a staff of 356. Net income at the bank totaled $10.5 million in 2017.
