The Central Arkansas Library System is hosting the first talk in a series, Conversations with Arkansas Governors, on Saturday with former Gov. David Pryor.
The series plans to sit down for an in-depth conversation with previous governors of Arkansas and the future governor of the state. The talk with each will cover their “contributions to the past, present and future of the state,” according to ArkansasGovernors.com.
The conversation with Pryor, who held the office from 1975-79, is set for 10 a.m. at the Ron Robinson Theater in downtown Little Rock. The event is free, but complimentary tickets can be reserved here.
Dates in October have also been set for former governors Jim Guy Tucker and Mike Huckabee.
Tucker’s conversation is set for 3 p.m. at Oct. 18 and Huckabee’s at 3 p.m. Oct. 26.
Leading candidates to be Arkansas’ next governor — Democrat Mike Ross and Republican Asa Hutchinson — have agreed to the talk, which will take place with the winning candidate at some point after November’s election.
Dates for Gov. Mike Beebe and a few of his predecessors, Bill Clinton and Dale Bumpers, are still pending confirmation, according to the site.
