Fresh Coat Painters Headed to Fort Smith

2 min read

Mario Franco is bringing the first Fresh Coat Painters franchise to Arkansas next week. He’s setting up shop in Fort Smith, the town where he grew up.

Fresh Coat Painters President Tara Riley said the brand is bringing “professionalism to the painting business” and that it teaches franchisees to focus on customer service.

Franco said he has been in the drywall and painting business in Fort Smith since 2008. He sought out Fresh Coat Painters to take advantage of its online presence and because one of his friends who is working for a franchise in Houston recommended it.

Fresh Coat Painters has been around awhile and has the resources he needs to be successful, Franco said.

He already owns a drywall business which employs six people, including him and his wife. All six will also be working for the painting business as well, but Franco said he’d like to hire more painters as long as there is a demand for them.

His Fresh Coat Painters franchise will be based at his home in Fort Smith and will focus on residential projects, for now.

Riley said the company looks for franchisees who could own the franchise for 30 years or more.

The brand is also combating the “bad reputation” that contractors, especially painters, have when it comes to customer service, Riley said.

Fresh Coat Painters, she said, forms a working relationship with customers and gives them a precise timeline for their project. The employees pass background checks and are bonded and insured.
