Did you know Searcy’s First Security Bank is making a move in the panhandle of the Sunshine State?
The $7.5 billion-asset lender intends to open its first out-of-state branch in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
That effort will entail First Security purchasing a 1,500-SF office building at 151 E. County Highway 30A, across the street from Bad Ass Coffee.
Conversations with some local lending talent led to the bank opening a loan production office in Santa Rosa Beach in June 2022.
“This thing came up, and it wasn’t something we were looking for,” said Reynie Rutledge, chairman and CEO of First Security. “They called us up and said ‘Hey, we’d like to work with you guys.’
“We have a number of Arkansas folks doing business there along with customers who live and invest down there. We’ll give it a try and see if it works.”
The Santa Rosa Beach office represents the bank’s full-service location No. 81.
First Security tallied a profit of nearly $66 million through the first half of 2023.
