Florida Anchor Joins ‘THV 11 This Morning,’ Replacing Alyse Eady

KTHV-TV, Channel 11, announced Tuesday that Florida morning anchor Rob Evans will join the station a member of the “THV 11 This Morning” team.

Evans, a Missouri native and former sportscaster, replaces Alyse Eady, the former Miss Arkansas who moved last month to Atlanta, one of America’s top 10 TV markets, where she is co-anchor of WAGA-TV’s morning show, “Good Day Atlanta.”

Evans, 39, has been morning anchor at WZVN-TV, known as ABC7, in Fort Myers, Florida, for two years.

He began his career as a sports anchor in Medford, Oregon, and moved to Florida after 10 years of sports reporting in Springfield, Missouri.

He said he looks forward to living in central Arkansas with his wife, Ashley, daughter Carley and son Kason, saying it “already feels like home.”

A University of Missouri graduate, Evans says he loves the outdoors, golf, and telling stories.

“Being able to raise my two kids in such a naturally beautiful place, with so much to explore and so close to home, is a dream,” Evans said in a news release.

KTHV General Manager Michael Caplan announced that Evans will join Tom Brannon and Laura Monteverdi on the morning program Monday, Sept. 19.

“We know mornings on THV11 will be interesting, informative and fun” with Evans joining the team, Caplan said. News Director Dave Parker praised Evans’ “experience, energy” an “passion for being active in the community — all things we love and appreciate.”
