Forge Institute of Little Rock announced late Tuesday its partnership with the Arkansas Department Education to provide virtual cybersecurity training to district and school technology staff across the state.
The company said it will utilize its instructors, cloud-based training environment and virtual delivery capability to provide an eight-part course.
“Unfortunately, 2020 has proven to be a difficult year for our students, teachers, staff and families. COVID-19 has created an environment where cyber criminals have increased attacks causing disruption in education,” Don Benton, ADE assistant commissioner of research and technology said in a news release. “This partnership with Forge Institute is one of the many steps we are taking to enhance our cybersecurity posture and better defend student data while increasing the resiliency of education delivery.”
Forge Institute CEO Lee Watson added, “We are excited to partner with ADE to provide training for district and school technology staff across Arkansas. Our team developed a unique training course that covers essential concepts in network defense and will provide participants with the tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) they need to help keep our schools, staff and students’ information more secure.”
