Former Circuit Judge Sidney McCollum Now President of Association of Attorney-Mediators

Sidney H. McCollum was recently elected president of the Association of Attorney-Mediators, a national organization of licensed attorneys from 24 states who are also experienced mediators.

McCollum was a circuit judge for Arkansas’ 19th Judicial District until 1995, when he stepped down to established ADR Inc., an alternative dispute resolution service providing mediation, arbitration, mini-trials and other alternatives to litigation.

He has been a member of the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission since it was formed 18 years ago, and he served as chairman for 12 of those years. He has mediated more than 2,000 cases and has trained mediators in Arkansas as well as through the National Judicial College in Nevada.

A 1962 graduate of Hendrix College at Conway, McCollum earned his law degree at Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville in 1965. He has attended numerous training programs through the National Judicial College, American Academy of Judicial Education and other providers.
