Josh Casada
A former Pine Bluff insurance agent avoided prison by pleading guilty last month to four felony counts, including theft, forgery and insurance fraud.
Joshua Eric Casada, 46, was placed on probation for 10 years and ordered to pay $193,000 in restitution in exchange for pleading guilty to one count each of theft of property and forgery and two counts of insurance fraud.
Casada, who lost his license to sell insurance in Arkansas in December 2017, faced other felony charges, but those were dismissed as a result of the plea agreement made in Pulaski County Circuit Court. The charges he faced in Jefferson County also were dismissed.
His crimes stemmed from submitting fraudulent premium finance agreements to the Imperial Premium Finance Corp. of Kansas City, Missouri, which does business as IPFS Corp.
Casada incorporated Casada Insurance Group Inc. in White Hall in December 2015.
