Former KATV Anchor Jeané Franseen Joins Fox Streaming Team

2 min read

Former KATV reporter and anchor Jeané Franseen is making a national move this month, joining Fox News as host for LiveNow From Fox, the network’s 24-hour breaking news streaming service.

She was hired by Channel 7 in March 2021 as a weekend anchor but became a solo morning and noontime anchor before leaving the station at the end of March. The Memphis native announced her new job at Fox on Thursday, saying she would be working out of the network’s East Coast hub in Orlando, Florida.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to work for a national news outlet and now that dream is a reality,” Franseen said in social media posts. She had spent time at two Arkansas stations, KATV of Little Rock and KTEV of El Dorado.

“My first market out of college was El Dorado in 2014, and about that time I was interviewing Leslie Rutledge and Tom Cotton, who were both campaigning to get their foot in the door of politics,” Franseen told Arkansas Business in a 2021 interview. “It was the Monroe, Louisiana, market, but the station was licensed to El Dorado and I did a lot of Arkansas stories.”

Cotton, of course, is now a U.S. senator and Rutledge, formerly the state’s attorney general, is now Arkansas’ lieutenant governor.

Franseen, who recently turned 30, called the Fox post a “chapter in God’s plan,” and greater than she ever imagined. “The journey to this point wasn’t easy, but it’s a testament to hard work, knowing your worth, patience and faith.”

She thanked her co-workers at Channel 7 and accepted their good wishes and congratulations.

“My first day is July 10 and I’ll be on air in the weeks to follow,” she said.

Franseen is the second KATV alum to join Fox News’ national team since 2022. Mills Hayes joined the network last year as a multimedia reporter based in Minneapolis. She covers the Midwest for Fox-owned stations across the country.
