Arkansas State Police on Monday announced the arrest of Dr. Sudesh Banaji, 60, of Forrest City, on one count of rape and six counts of sexual assault.
The arrest came after state police investigated accusations that Banaji had inappropriate sexual contact with female patients during examinations at his medical clinic. The investigation began in August 2023.
Banaji has been practicing at his clinic, Internal Medicine of Forrest City, since 1999 and is affiliated with Forrest City Medical Center, according to the clinic’s website.
He was being held in the Cross County jail on $35,000 bond.
