Custom chemical and biofuel manufacturer FutureFuel Corp. of Batesville has expanded its board to nine members and appointed CEO Roeland Polet as board chair.
Polet replaces Donald Bedell as board chair. Bedell resigned as chair but will remain a member of the board of directors.
In a corresponding move, the company appointed G. Bruce Greer, an independent director, as lead independent director to collaborate with Polet and to contribute to the functioning and oversight of the board.
Polet has been CEO of the company since September 2024. Prior to joining FutureFuel, he was the CEO of DSM Materials Businesses for Koninklijke DSM N.V., a Dutch multinational corporation.
FutureFuel’s third-quarter loss widened to $9.3 million as the company paused production of biofuel, its largest revenue source, due to regulatory uncertainty. The company plans to resume biofuel production late in the fourth quarter.
FutureFuel in October announced it would close its remote headquarters in Clayton, Missouri, and consolidate its corporate operations in Batesville, the location of its main production, technology and administrative operations for decades.
