G. Keith Pinchback
G. Keith Pinchback, vice chancellor of institutional advancement at Arkansas State University-Beebe, will succeed Steven Murray as chancellor of Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, the UA System announced Friday.
Pinchback is expected to start his new job on July 1, the day after Murray retires after 12 years as chancellor and 35 years with the college.
UA System President Donald Bobbitt praised Pinchback’s “very keen understanding of the many issues facing the institution.”
“He brings a wide array of experiences in higher education to the position, along with some business experience that is critically important given the financial challenges facing higher education,” Bobbitt said in a news release.
Pinchback earned a B.S. in journalism with a public relations emphasis in 1992, an MBA in 2003 and a doctorate of educational leadership in 2011, all from Arkansas State University. Before joining ASU-Beebe in 2001, he was regional director of sales and marketing for Balanced Care Corp., director of community relations for St. Bernard’s Behavioral Health, marketing director at Helena Rehabilitation Center and sports editor of The Daily World in Helena. He also served in the Air Force.
Pinchback will be paid $140,000 a year as chancellor of PCCU, which has 2,300 students and offers 25 associate degree programs at campuses in DeWitt, Helena-West Helena and Stuttgart.
