Gary Campbell in Driver’s Seat of Accelerate Arkansas (Movers & Shakers)

Gary Campbell has been elected chairman of the board of Accelerate Arkansas. Mike Malone has been hired as vice chairman. Accelerate Arkansas is a group of business and education leaders in the state with the goal of raising per capita income of Arkansas residents to the U.S. average by 2020.

Health Care

Sean Adams has been named director of the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, located on the Arkansas Children’s Hospital campus in Little Rock. Adams also will be a professor and chief of the Division of Developmental Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock. He previously was research leader for the Obesity & Metabolism Research Unit at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Western Human Nutrition Research Center in Davis, California, and an associate professor at the University of California at Davis.

Dr. Mark Jansen has been hired as primary care medical director for the Center for Healthcare Enhancement & Development at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Jansen practiced in Arkadelphia before joining UAMS in 2013.

Krishna Mylavarapu has been hired as a neurologist at Batesville Neurology Clinic, a White River Medical Center clinic in Batesville. Mylavarapu received his fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Detroit Medical Center in Michigan.

Judith Steen has been named president of the board of directors of Presbyterian Village, a retirement community in Little Rock. She will serve on the board from July 2014 to July 2015.

Chris Wilson has been hired as chief marketing officer at Finnegan Health Services of Little Rock. In addition to the marketing title, Wilson will also assist affiliated Finnegan Medical Supply with its startup e-commerce venture. He was previously director of public relations at the Arkansas Farm Bureau in Little Rock.

Business Services

Craig Boes has been hired as sales manager at Payroll Vault in Conway, overseeing brand growth and becoming payroll adviser to the central Arkansas business community. He previously worked at CCH, a Wolters Kluwer company, and CAB Consulting, both in Little Rock.

Jon Davis has been hired as national sales executive at DataPath Inc. of Little Rock. Davis previously owned and managed a marketing firm that specialized in software solutions for global medical device corporations.

Education

Janet Behrend, a reading recovery trainer and faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been hired as president of the Reading Recovery Council of North America, based in Worthington, Ohio. Behrend has provided professional development to Reading Recovery program teachers and leaders for the past 13 years at UALR.

Tod Martin has been named registrar at Harding University in Searcy, a job he will start in August. Martin previously worked as registrar at York College in Nebraska and was a business, management and marketing assistant professor at York.

Engineering

Matt Bienvenu has been promoted from laboratory technician to assistant laboratory manager at McClelland Consulting Engineers Inc. of Little Rock. Ric Roll has been hired as laboratory manager of the Environmental Testing Laboratory at McClelland. The laboratory is certified by the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality. Roll was previously superintendent at North Little Rock Wastewater Utility.

Real Estate

Jon Holcomb has been hired as property manager at Colliers International Arkansas in Little Rock. He was previously senior advertising account executive at Mangan Holcomb Partners of Little Rock.

Tourism

Amy Stockton has been hired as membership manager at Amazeum, an interactive museum opening in 2015 near the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. Stockton previously held senior management positions at the Endeavor Foundation in Springdale, the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute and Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Central Arkansas.
