USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren said Friday that Gary R. Enzor has joined its board of directors.

Enzor succeeds Terry A. Elliott, who retired after serving as a director since 2003.

Enzor is chairman and CEO of publicly traded Quality Distribution Inc. of Tampa, Florida, which operates the largest bulk chemical transportation network and container services network in North America.

Quality Distribution operates about 3,500 tractors and has more than 100 locations.

“Gary is an established expert in the transportation industry, with an outstanding 12-year track record at two leading companies in the transportation sector, Quality and Swift Transportation,” USA Truck Chairman Robert A. Peiser said in a news release.

“Gary’s deep knowledge of our industry, combined with his strategic and financial expertise, will be a valuable asset to USA Truck as we work to further advance our company’s financial performance and create long-term shareholder value,” Peiser said.

Peiser also thanked Elliott for contributions over the past 11 years on the company’s board.

“Throughout this long period, Terry has been an integral member of the company’s board,” he said. “We feel privileged to have worked with him and wish him the best in his retirement.”

Shares of USA Truck (Nasdaq: USAK), a trucking and logistics firm, were trading at $17.58 on Monday.
