Gateway’s Grove Project Adds to 2015 Commercial Construction

1 min read

A 33-acre piece of Little Rock’s Gateway Town Center development is poised to add some new commercial construction in 2015.

Dubbed The Grove, the land is envisioned to become an entertainment district with hotels, restaurants and other attractions.

“As an amenity, we’re going to light up all the trees year-round,” said Tommy Hodges, developer of Gateway Town Center. “We’ll be planting 500 trees, and 75 are already in the ground.”

Hodges said the inspiration for planting and lighting the decorative elm trees was Highland Park Village in Dallas.

“Synergy starts building on itself,” he said, “and we’re just starting to get the synergy from the Bass Pro Shop and the outlet mall,” with its 325,000 SF of shops set to open next year (No. 7 at $35 million). “The improved interstate access is a milestone.”

Infrastructure improvements valued at $1.5 million are already in motion on The Grove site in the northeast quadrant of the Gateway Town Center project.
