A German company, Lanxess, announced Wednesday the acquisition of Tire Curing Bladders LLC of Little Rock, which employs about 100 people and sold in 2011 $21 million worth of rubber bladders used in the tire-manufacturing process.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. TCB is located at 5701 Murray St.
The purchase of TCB from owners Vernon Almon and Mark Nutt is Lanxess’ third U.S. acquisition in the U.S. in recent months. Lanxess, a subsidiary of Rhein Chemie, acquired phthalate-free plasticizers company Unitex in Greensboro, N.C., in October and biocide material protection specialist Verichem in Pittsburgh in November.
"We are delighted that Rhein Chemie will give our committed workforce the platform to achieve even more success through its global reach and well-known brands," Almon and Nutt said in a press release.
