Gina Gemberling Named Interim CEO of LRCVB

2 min read

Gina Gemberling, vice president of sales and marketing at the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been named interim CEO of the organization.

Gemberling assumes the role ahead of President & CEO Gretchen Hall’s departure in March. Hall, who has worked for the LRCVB for more than 20 years, announced this week that she was leaving to join Destinations International as its chief operating officer.

Gemberling has worked for the LRCVB since 2018. She spent the previous 24 years working for the Springfield (Illinois) Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she held roles in sales, service and marketing before becoming executive director.

The Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission said it chose Gemberling as interim CEO at a special meeting Friday.

“In order to create a smooth transition in leadership and maximize the sixty days we have before Gretchen’s departure, we felt it was important to name an interim leader,” Jim Keet, chairman of the Advertising & Promotion Commission, said in a news release. “Gina was an easy and obvious choice due to her experience in the industry and the excellent job she has done in her senior leadership role at LRCVB for the past four years.”

In Gemberling’s time at LRCVB, she has led the sales and marketing teams through a merger and reorganization, and has implemented programs that deliver targeted and consistent messaging, the release says. That includes recent marketing efforts aimed at niche markets, such as cycling and Black consumers.

Keet said the commission plans to move “promptly, yet prudently” to find the LRCVB’s next leader.
