A Bentonville company that manufactures tea mixes targeted to diabetics and consumers with digestive issues is growing.
Glucose Health Inc., which sells the mixes under the label GlucoDown, recently had a private stock offering that raised $65,000, and that comes on the heels of $360,000 raised last year.
The money will be spent on items such as ingredients and product development, said CEO Murray Fleming.
Formed in 2007, Glucose Health started making the tea mixes in 2015. The mixes are sold on Amazon, in the pharmacy section of Walmart stores and in other pharmacies.
Fleming also is working on expanding the line to other retailers, but couldn’t offer any more details.
On its website, Glucose Health touts itself as being the first company to infuse fiber into ice tea, making it attractive for “anybody who just wants to add more fiber to their diet, which you know doesn’t have to be related to diabetes … or a medical condition.”
Fleming said sales hadn’t been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. In April, he said, the company had the best month in its history, which puts it on pace for sales of more than $500,000 this year.
Glucose Health reported on its website that it had $291,213 in revenue in 2019, up from $197,500 in 2018.
