A departure took place Nov. 15 at the Oxford American, the Southern culture magazine based in Little Rock and published in conjunction with the University of Central Arkansas.
Deputy Editor Maxwell George started as an assistant editor seven years ago and ascended along with Editor Eliza Borné, who was hired about the same time as associate editor.
“He’s freelancing” now, Borné told Arkansas Business. “We will miss him.” The magazine’s annual music issue, its most highly awaited edition of the year, is out now, focusing on South Carolina.
“Working on this magazine has been the honor of my life,” Maxwell said in a tweet. “I’m proud to have contributed.”
